Burgess’ wild rock rhythms out of Newport, Arkansas didn’t owe much to country music, unlike other rockabilly artists did. Sonny Burgess and his band, The Pacers (who included many of the original studio players at Sun Records) joined together to play timeless classics that defined their era and the rock and roll music that followed.
