Hey y’all,
Hard to believe it, but it’s already time for another Record Store Day Drop. After Record Store Day’s cancellation this past April, they planned unique RSD releases for August, September and October! The second is this weekend – Saturday, September 26 – so mark your calendars. If you haven’t seen the list of releases, check out the RSD site for what’s coming out (but be sure to search by release date!). As usual, we limit each customer to 1 copy per release item and are not able to hold records for customers. Remember, we won’t have everything, but we always aim to get a wide variety of selections from a number of different artists, labels, and distributors!
If you attended our August event, you know the drill, but for the uninitiated, here’s how we’re handling RSD in light of the pandemic. In the past we let everyone in the store together, but with COVID-19 protocols in place, we won’t do that. Instead, for those who wish to visit the shop, you will be able to line up outside in the parking lot areas that will be marked 6 feet apart. It is IMPERATIVE that you stay on the demarcated space as we let 1 customer (plus anyone with whom that customer cohabitates) in the store to shop at a time beginning at 9 am.
Each shopper will have an individual time of 10 minutes to shop the RSD bins, make selections, and check out. After that, the next customer enters and it will continue in that fashion until the line has dissipated (last time around it was just before we closed at 5 pm). Should there not be a line later in the day, then we’ll allow for customers to come in for individual shopping. Instead of 45 minute appointments, however, we will be limiting them to 20 minutes each to allow for late-arriving RSD customers.
We require all customers to wear a mask at all times while in line and while in the store. There are no exceptions to this rule. It should also go without saying, but if you have any symptoms of ANY illness, do not come to the shop. If you have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 symptoms within two weeks of August 29, then do not come to the shop. We take this extremely seriously and will not hesitate to decline to let in anyone who does not abide by our policies. Additionally, there will not be public restroom facilities, so plan accordingly before you come to the shop.
With all that said, we really look forward to getting these special releases into your hands and as always, we appreciate you making a commitment to shop locally with us. Without y’all places like ours couldn’t and wouldn’t exist so thanks for your ongoing support!
