Man, oh, man – Record Store Day was a blast this year! Thanks to everyone who came by and made it such a great day for us!
We have a bunch of new vinyl in the store right now – stuff from Jack White, Dr. Dog, Howlin’ Wolf, the Smiths, Turn-it-offs and more! We also have a handful of Record Store Day exclusives leftover, including the excellent new Lee Hazelwood comp from Light In The Attic.

Yes, Shangri-La will be participating in the Record Store Day event scheduled for April 21, 2012. No word yet on what we’ll have, specifically – but it’ll be lots of cool/exclusive vinyl releases. You gotta come check it out in person to see . . . we will open at 10 a.m. sharp. Get involved!
GrowMemphis benefit – 03/31
This Saturday night (03/31/12), come on out and see Shangri-la owner Jared and staffer J.D. in live rock action at the Hi-Tone to support a really good cause.
GrowMemphis is a new non-profit in Memphis that supports urban farms and gardens in the area and also advocates for local food policy changes.
Again, the show is this Saturday at the Hi-Tone. $5 cover (all proceeds benefit GrowMemphis), 8 p.m. doors. Here’s the full band schedule:

Hello, hello! We hope everybody had a terrific Thanksgiving and is surviving the Christmas season so far. We have just a few quick store updates to pass along.
The Black Friday Record Store Day event was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out and bought records. We still have a few RSD items in stock, including exclusives from Pink Floyd, Janis Joplin, Kings of Leon, Misfits, Brendan Benson, Phish, Beastie Boys, Jimmy Cliff and more!
